ICC Participates a Project Interreg about Tele-work and Disabilities

The Canarian Central Technological foundation of entrepreneurs and people with disabilities is the part of the Interreg program, it is the part of the program that has the highest funding from the E.U. A central resource of Tele-work in ultrapreficial regions with gearing towards people with disabilities (TeleRup).

TeleRup is a project that enables the facilitation and integration of people with physical disabilities into the workplace using Tele-work. The type of work will be determined in sectors of the Canarian, Madeirian and Azoresian economies, characterised by their level of importance in the Canary Islands. The use of the Tele-work scheme will be used in priority sections of the market, eg, tourism (especially), insurance, banking, consultation, press, communication agencies and development of software.

At the head of the project is the company Carsa, this company works together with the Canarial Technological Centre for entrepreneurs and people with disabilities, the other partner is ITC (Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias). In Madeira the main participants are, the regional special education institution, Pólo Cientifico e Tecnológico da Madeira (Scientific research), Madeira Tecnopolo s.a., Lar Mâe de Deus (Technolpol). The participating companies in Azores are, the university of Azores, AFORTEC and the association for the professional technological formation in the autonomic region of Madeira.

The objective of the group TELERUP will be the creation of a community network of human resources of Tele-work, being present in the resource centres in each of the Canarian Islands, launching a pilot plan consistent of the incorporation of 30 disabled tele-workers into the workplace.
