Africainfomarket and ICC are working together on the documentation of Northwest African Newspapers

Within the Interreg IIIB (Madeira-Azores and Canary Islands) initiative

Africainfomarket, ICC consultants and The Fundación Emprende Canarias are working together within the ATLANTE MEDIA project, consisting of the creation of a production structure in Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal and Cape Verde for the daily digitisation of newspapers for these four countries and the creation of press dossiers. This allows Canarian businesses and institutions, and from the two other Portuguese islands, to collaborate and develop business activities with Northwest African countries.

The line manager for this project, co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg IIIB initiative, is the Fundación Emprende Canarias (FEC) whose aim is the marketing of the investigation, the technological development and the innovation around the projects it leads or that benefit young entrepreneurs from the Canarian Community, especially those with disabilities. FEC has a view of regional performance (with headquarters in Tenerife and Gran Canaria) founded at the beginning of 2004 by Enrique Fárez and the consulting company ICC.

ICC, who provides the technology necessary to the project, counts as a division specialised in monitoring and analysis of communication media for the Canary Islands, an area in which they have over 11 years experience working with institutions such as The Canary Government, Council and Parliament... and also with the most important businesses and organisations in the islands.

Africainfomarket lends its help to the identification of suitable newspapers of these African countries, to carry out the analysis and documentation. It offers some of its support structures in Senegal and Mauritania looking at the location of the technological equipment that they can use to work on the project.

The press is a basic source of documentation for both institutional and business establishments in terms of creating collaborations, business projects implementation, development and other incentives between these regions. The Atlante Africa system will generate and permit the reinforcement of competitiveness of business native to the Canary Islands, facilitate economic and business relations with the countries of Northwest Africa. It will promote exportation from RUP businesses and market growth; promote the co-operation between public and private establishments in the tourism field; improve decision-making and information processes of the businesses.
