Business Regionalisation

ICC lends technical support to public policies for the regionalisation of Canarian Businesses

ICC has designed a methodology which allows our clients, public entities and intermediating organisations, to better their competitiveness while crossing the first obstacle which they will encounter in its development and growth in ever changing surroundings: The reduced dimension of the market in which it actually operates (often of an island character). This methodology takes 6 phases:

Phase 1: Study of “successful initiatives” in regionalisation: a study between regional Canarian SME of the different types of obstacles with those that they will face in the case of regionalisation of their business activity and the presence in different local markets. Studies will be carried out through the use of quantitative and qualitative character tools.

Fase 2: Study of situation of participant companies of regionalización projects, diagnosis: studies between SME and the problems they had to face when undertaking regionalisation, or going into emmerging markets. How did they overcome this? What tools did they use, of what sort, qualitative or quantitative? An investigator visits each company participant and analyses the existing obstacles facing the exit to other different markets from the premises.

Phase 3: Definition and Methodology of Regionalisation: A necessity to put into action a plan for regionalisation is paramount. Localisation in the Canaries, what services will be offered, offices, selection of personnel, creating a sructure of personnel and technology and the implantation of a corperate culture are all factors needing a plan.

Phase 4: Implantation of the Regionalisation: individual help to the participating companies and their regionalisation plans.

Phase 5: Central Resources for Regionalisation: creation of a unity of services for participating companies from one permanent central source. Resulting in a long time continuity of a project. These services include: service of support to the Financing of Research and Development, service support to the Internationalisation and service support to Quality.

Phase 6: Manual of Better Practices: Study of a document which gathers the sucessful experiences and extracts recommendations and applicable methodology for other companies.

Phase 7: Dissemination, plans of Regionalisation for the Canaries: diffusion of the experience and Better Practices among others companies in the sector services (tertiary sector).
