The Foundation Emprende Canarias

Offices of the Foundation in Gran Canaria The foundation, centre of technology for energetic ideas and disabilities (Emprende Canarias FEC) is a regional company with offices in Gran Canaria and Tenerife. It was funded at teh start of 2004 by Enrique Farez, the president of ICC.

The foundation consists of the promotion of investigation, the development of technologies and innovations that could help young energetic workers, and, more closely, those with a physical disability.

Between the activities and specific projets, you find:

Development of research, technology and innovation in areas that encourage ideas, and or, those linked to benefitting the disabled. Investigative studies, reviews and research into the performance of the foundation.
To promote the Transnational Cooperation in order to fulfil the purpose and activities of the business, in a special way between entrepreneurs and companies of the Canary Islands with Western Africa, Madeira and Açores, South America and European Union.
The creation Observatories of business and institutional information for the transnational cooperation on the methods of communication. The observatories manage the monitoring and analysis of the informative presence in mass media of geographic scopes described in the first part of the terms refering to the object of the foundation, making available the availability of Canarian businesses related to the transnational cooperation, thanks to the work of all businesses involved.
To impel the tending actions to harness the use between people with disabilities, specially through the promotion of the enterprise initiative (support to employment centres, promotion of tele-work, new deposits of use, social economy, companies described as I+E) and formation.
To cause the generation and maturation of enterprise initiatives from Canarian enterprises. With special incidence between entrepreneurs with disabilities.
To promote the outstanding company initiatives with focus on:
- Sectors of tie activity with the Society of the Information and the New Technologies.
- Acessible tourism and elimination of barriers.
- Specialised Research and Development for older and or disabiled workers.
To impel the fulfillment of the obligation of the quota expressed by the Law of Social and Labor Integration, as much in the public sector as the private and, within this law, promote the actvities of Specialised Centers of Use for the disabled.
To encourage the accessibility and adaptation of work and study means to people with disabilities, with special incidence to the public sector (work) and the university (study).
The linking of developing labour and businesses to the entrepreneur and or, people with disabilities, leading to higher confidence for the individual.
Promotion of all the activities described through Seminaries, Days and Congresses.

Inside the first program of the foundation you will find the creation of of the observatory of entrepreneurs and disabled people in the communication methods of the Canaries. This observatory manages the monitoring and analysis of the mass communication that goes on in throughout the Canaries (as set out in the companies objectives) with opportunities for people with disabilities.

Also it is had an immediate performance to impel the promotion of Capital Risk, the financial bottoms coming from the canary fiscal specificities and of the program Interreg IIIB (Madeira, Azores and the Canary Islands) for such initiatives.
